With everyone’s help in winning $1,500 in bonuses and raising $5,133 from over 60 donations during the GlobalGiving fundraising challenge in August, The Story of Happiness was invited to remain a part of the GlobalGiving site. We will, however, be setting up a different means for people to be able to contribute due to the 15% donation fee associated with GlobalGiving (we accepted this fee during the month of August given the potential to earn bonuses, of which everyone’s donation fee was indirectly recovered in the $1,500 we won).
The donations from GlobalGiving will be transferred to the project in November. In the meantime, the project’s focus on happiness and women in South Africa is evolving, and further relationships are being established with contacts in South Africa in anticipation of the first trip to be made in January.
